There is a lot of meaning which goes behind a ring. A ring can symbolize a commitment, a
friendship, a meaningful event, or just a fashion trend. It accents an individual’s beauty. One of the
first impressions an individual makes is through a handshake. So when trying to
make a good impression make sure you have beautiful rings on your fingers to
accent your style and make a good first impression.
Recently while on a trip to visit friends at FSU in Tallahassee, Florida I had the opportunity to stop into a few cute mom-and-pop boutiques. The main items that caught my attention were rings! Usually I am one to hate rings. They bother me and always get in my way. However, these shops had the cutest mini rings I had ever seen. This one shop I went into off Gaines Street in Tallahassee, Bohemia, had an abundance of cute unique mini rings including( anchors, arrows, sugar skulls, hearts….) The best part was that the rings were so cheap. The owner was having a sale 1 for $6, 2 for $10, or 3 for $15. This deal was an incentive to stack up on rings to stack on my fingers.
In this image I am wearing two trendy rings. To me rings symbolize travel. I like to collect rings when I’m on vacation to remember my trips. The rose gold arrow one caught my attention because I wanted to accent my trip to FSU. This ring I bought at Bohemia in Tallahassee. The silver one is meaningful to me because it symbolizes my trip to Israel. I actually had this ring made while I was in Jerusalem in 2012 while on birthright by Hadaya. Hadaya is a jewelry shop in Jerusalem which specializes in engravings. It has been around since 1983. The artist who makes the engravings is Barach Hadaya.
Hadaya rings are meaningful because you can choose to get anything engraved on it that you wish. My ring has my Hebrew name carved on the outside (Malkah Daniella) and in the inside the saying “Follow your heart and you will go far”. This expression means so much to me because I know if I follow my heart, and do what I love to do, I will be successful! When translated to English my Hebrew name literally means Queen Danielle. When I first got my ring in the mail I noticed that there was a little squiggle on top of my Hebrew name. Later when I more closely analyzed this squiggle I discovered that it was not a squiggle, yet a crown. This is what I like about Hadaya, he puts meaning into his rings.
So next time you’re traveling and want a keep sake, but are sick and tired of the stereotypical shot glass or keychain, choose a mini ring. A ring is a treasure for life. You may be surprised because it could even turn into an heirloom.
Stylishly yours,
Lindsay Zallis
